About Blue Murder
This project was masterminded by ex-Thin Lizzy and Tygers of Pan Tang guitarist John Sykes, after he left Whitesnake in 1988. With help from a fluctuating lineup, Sykes recorded Blue Murder's first album as a three-piece; the material included on their self-titled debut drew heavily on Sykes' Whitesnake legacy but featured more extended compositions, with sophisticated arrangements and lengthy instrumental breaks. Amid further lineup changes, Nothin' But Trouble was released in 1993, and after delivering a live album in 1994, the unit disbanded.
