About Xavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffx
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is recording pig squeals into a R99 headset at 2am in my parents’ house in South Africa, layering them over Windows XP demo drums and thinking, “Cool, this sounds like the apocalypse.” What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Abominable Putridity, The Anomalies of Artificial Origin Metalocalypse: Dethklok, The Dethalbum Waking The Cadaver, Perverse Recollections of a Necromangler These three pretty much rewired my brain. Abominable Putridity and Waking the Cadaver taught me how ignorant slam should groove, and The Dethalbum showed me heavy music can be stupidly brutal and still fun as hell. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Veil of Moonlight” Veil of Moonlight feels like the moment everything finally clicked for Xavleg. It has all the stupidly heavy slam and weird melodies I hear in my head, but with this sad, nostalgic mood underneath. When people say it helped them through dark times.. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the wildest moments for me was realizing this weird little band from South Africacan tour the world. Standing on stage in another country, hearing people scream the lyrics back at me, felt completely unreal, reminded me how far the music goes. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I still have a stupidly long bucket list. I want to bring this nonsense to stages like Hellfest, Bloodstock, OEF and every tiny club that will have us. The dream is for Xavleg to be that band you stumble across at 2am and never forget again.
