The Steel Woods

The Steel Woods were an American country-rock band formed by songwriter-guitarist Jason “Rowdy” Cope and vocalist Wes Bayliss in 2016. The group released three albums with Cope, who died before 2021’s All of Your Stones made its debut. Following Cope’s passing, the group put out one more album—2023’s On Your Time. After their 2024 tour in the United States, The Steel Woods disbanded for personal reasons. But their outlaw vibe—with bold, Skynyrd-indebted tunes—remains a testament to their influence on modern Southern rock.
