About Andrew Dykes - The Blues Man

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is sitting in my grandmother’s house in Tallulah, LA, listening to her hum gospel melodies while the radio was playing in the background. I didn’t know it then, but the rhythm became the foundation of my sound. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? B.B. King, Live At the Regal Bobby "Blue" Bland, Two Steps from the Blues Johnnie Taylor, Eargasm These albums shaped my understanding of blues. B.B. King showed me pure emotion. Bobby “Blue” Bland taught me grit and elegance. And Johnnie Taylor proved the blues could groove, heal, and still hit the heart. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Man I'm Tryin' To Be” "The Man I’m Tryin’ to Be” is special to me because it reflects every man working to grow, heal, and love his family better than before. It’s honest, vulnerable, and rooted in my journey as a husband and father. It’s the blues, but it carries hope. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career was seeing people around the world connect with my music for the first time. Watching the Bluesline family grow through their stories and messages showed me that what I create truly touches lives. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to take the Bluesline worldwide and build music that families across generations can feel. My dream is to create a lasting legacy of storytelling, healing, and soul that reaches millions.
