Marie-Elisabeth Hecker

After winning the Concours de violoncelle Rostropovich, cellist Marie-Elisabeth Hecker went on to a successful career as a performer and educator. She has appeared widely in Europe and the U.S. Hecker recorded frequently for the Alpha label in the 2010s, often working with her husband, pianist Martin Helmchen. In 2025, the pair released the album From Eastern Europe on Alpha.
