About Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra

The Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (in French, Orchestre philharmonique du Luxembourg) is the leading symphonic ensemble of that small northwestern European nation. The group has a large repertory that includes much French music but otherwise ranges widely; it has made several recordings devoted to composer Georges Lentz. The Luxembourg Philharmonic has a substantial recording catalog on the small Timpani label and later on the larger Pentatone label from the Netherlands. On Pentatone, the group joined violinist Arabella Steinbacher on the album Beethoven & Lentz, featuring violin concertos devoted to those two composers. By that time, the orchestra's recording catalog comprised more than 60 items.
