Fridayy’s 2025 sophomore release Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not was a deeply emotional double-album statement on which the Philly R&B phenom addressed the death of his father alongside an all-star supporting cast that included Meek Mill, Chris Brown, and Kehlani. This follow-up EP feels like the well-earned exhale after that epic project, as Fridayy leans into soft-focus ’80s-smoothed ballads like “Taboo” and the divine Mariah the Scientist duet “Death Do Us Part” with a warm, soothing voice that reimagines the classic soul crooner for a post-trap age. And even in a compact format, Everybody Got Somebody boasts an eclectic production palette, be it the reggae-tinged rhythms of “Won’t Keep You Waiting” or the dreamy guitar shimmer of “Stallin.”
