

Sweeter is a stylistic departure from DeGraw’s more sensitive musings. There’s some confrontational funk pumping out of “Radiation,” which grooves hard on the surface. Pry under the hood, and it sounds like DeGraw’s picking a fight with an ex he keeps backpedaling to after closing time. In“Run Every Time” the chorus lyrics reveal a guy who’s confessing that romantic commitment isn’t one of his strengths.
