At 79 years young, Jerry Lee Lewis still commands a room. For Rock & Roll Time, he recorded at the House of Blues Studio in Memphis with a number of all-star guests, who mostly stay in the background. Shelby Lynne shares the microphone for a duet of “Here Comes That Rainbow Again.” Elsewhere, Keith Richards and Ron Wood settle into the band for “Little Queenie,” and Daniel Lanois and Doyle Bramhall II melt into the surroundings for Bob Dylan’s obscure “Stepchild.” Other guests include Jon Brion, Neil Young, Ivan Neville, Robbie Robertson, Nils Lofgren, and Derek Trucks. But the Killer remains center stage.
