Despite the equal billing, this laidback batch of blues standards (including a Caribbean-flavored "Pretty Thing") and New Orleans-tinged R&B (e.g. "Cha-Dooky-Doo") sounds a lot like a John Paul Hammond solo album with a couple of special guests. Mike Bloomfield's superb yet understated guitar and Dr. John's coltish piano bubble underneath Hammond's vocals. Casually invigorating horn arrangements and sassy female backing singers punch up "Baby Let Me Kiss You" and "Sho Bout to Drive Me Wild."
