Nobody's Perfect - EP

On the poignantly titled Nobody’s Perfect, Lagos singer and songwriter Perfext introduces himself as a work in progress—he’s vulnerable but quietly determined. The EP moves like a diary in motion, blending R&B textures, mellow Afrobeats, and soothing melodies to explore hustle, faith, love, and self-reckoning. The story begins with “Rain,” a restrained midtempo prayer that sets the tone: perseverance before payoff, belief before proof. The struggle is laid bare, Perfext crooning, “If no be God, all these scorpion and the serpent/They for chop my eye.” “Bonnie & Clyde” follows with a romantic vow rooted in loyalty and divine alignment, with lines like, “Me and you like Bonnie and Clyde…You know say God sef co-sign.” “Lost & Found” turns burnout into testimony over chilled bass and 808s, while “Tingasa” adds tropical swagger and playful pursuit. “Yawa” confronts the reality of frenemies, pressure, and survival, concepts an emerging star could become increasingly familiar with. Closing track “Tete La” lands as a mantra of self-trust and faith: “Na me wear my shoes/Na me know the road.”
