On their debut album, 2charm pay ecstatic tribute to globe-trotting club culture. The project’s very first creation, “invisible wings,” was crafted with producer Nina Wilson, aka Ninajirachi, in the spare room of Mallrat’s house in Los Angeles. Besides the titular city, “paris (to get you out my head)” also mentions Hollywood and Saint-Tropez, while the Arc de Triomphe lends its name to the album’s closing track. Even the slower “you will never be alone in barcelona” evokes all-night dancing in cities around the world. The vocals are as airy and delicate, bolstered by hyperpop-style pitch-shifting and pulsing, hypnotic beats. The lyrics of “girls” playfully call out “Nina on the beat,” and “boyfriend” strikes the perfect balance between Wilson’s internet-steeped EDM and 2charm's clubby indie pop, leaning into overt dance music while retaining lyrical sincerity.
