As anyone who stumbled upon Tim Godfrey through his 2017 single “Na You Be God” or his Travis Greene-featuring “Nara” can attest, the Kaduna-born singer is here to spread the good word. Luckily for the uninitiated, he’s also focused on delivering the gospel to those believers who need to hear it the most. With No Label, the singer’s second offering of 2025, Godfrey’s message leans on influences from jazz, amapiano, and hip-hop. It’s an action-packed blockbuster of an album that speaks to the world but never strays from his principles. Faith is ever-present as Godfrey helms an orchestral-inspired dedication to God on “Praise the Lord” and luxuriates in his blessings over synth-laden production on “Halleluyah.” Even soul-inflected detours like “Kosi” and “TITD (This Is the Day)” unfold into vibrant vignettes of the singer’s gratitude. To herald this new direction, Godfrey also pulls from Afropop, recruiting a strong cast of stars from the Nigerian scene. Producer Masterkraft supplies some of the supplest beats on No Label, helping shape the project’s architecture. Spyro offers his thanks for divine provision over bouncy log drums on “Goodness and Mercy,” and “KU LO SA” star Oxlade pledges his own dedication to God on “Infinity,” all the while boosting the project's fun factor.
