Before Marilyn Manson, GWAR, Slayer, the Sex Pistols, even before KISS, Alice Cooper was doing his thing, shocking audiences and inciting outrage for his hard-rock antics and crazy theatrical stage shows. He's been steadily releasing new material since 1969, racking up some 25 studio albums (eight of them Platinum or Gold), over 20 compilations, and nearly 50 singles. He's a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a syndicated radio host, accomplished golfer, and one of the most influential (if often overlooked) artists in the history of popular music. On Theatre of Death, recorded live at London's famed Hammersmith Apollo during his 2009 tour, he runs through all of his hits, with rowdy renditions of much-loved standards like "Welcome to My Nightmare," "School's Out," "I'm Eighteen," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy," as well as more obscure album cuts sure to delight his legions of hardcore fans. Though he's released several other live albums over his lengthy career, this one is arguably the best, with 27 tracks, excellent sound quality, and ferocious energy, proving that AC still rocks harder at 60 years old than most singers half his age.
