Hungry Ghosts

Hungry Ghosts

The best word to describe OK GO is meticulous. Most people were introduced to the group via the masterly crafted, eye-catching videos that accompanied their carefully sculpted pop-rock. Their fourth album, Hungry Ghosts, takes a decidedly more electronic approach. While “The Writing’s on the Wall” was produced by Tony Hoffer (Kooks, Beck), the remaining songs were again helmed by The Flaming Lips’ sound guru Dave Fridmann, who encouraged the group’s playful and experimental sides. “I’m Not Through” captures falsetto-R&B in a minimalist synthetic setting, while much of the album flirts with technology most excitedly (“Upside Down & Inside Out”).
