The young London pianist and his group cast a wide stylistic net on this invigorating EP, but they remain rooted in acoustic jazz—even as they nod explicitly to hip-hop with an instrumental version of Nas' "The World Is Yours" and a bumping rap remix of "St. Anne's" (from Henry's 2017 debut, Ashley Henry's 5ive). The samba-derived title track, the elegant waltz "Bunny," and the driving finale "Moving Forward" find Henry in superb technical form and creative reach as a soloist.
