Shoegaze depth meets alt-rock hooks on this richly layered EP. On their second EP, Polly combine visceral alt-rock with the saturated crunch and woozy undertow of shoegaze. The Perth trio display a natural ear for hooks, which combine with guitarist Will Lintott’s pleading vocals to cut through the headier textures here. There’s plenty of dynamic variety too, with softer entries like “Hit” and “Forget You” contrasting nicely with the grunge flashbacks of “Shut Up” and the driving catharsis of “Doubt.” Though denser than Polly’s 2025 debut EP All I Want, this five-song set proves lively at every turn. “Tell Your Friends” evokes dreamy ’90s bands like Hum and early Smashing Pumpkins, while still filtering through the noisier strains of fellow Australian acts like Violent Soho and Hockey Dad.
