

Having mended multiple broken teenage hearts with a Take That reunion, Robbie Williams gets back to what he does best on this reinvigorated ninth album. A deep bench of talented collaborators help, with a guest spot from Lissie (on the rootsy, emotionally raw “Losers”) and a Gary Barlow songwriting assist (with the indomitable, horn-fuelled “Candy”) gilding a hit-stuffed set. But it’s Williams’ blazing charisma that holds it all together—most notably on orchestral showstopper “Different”.
