Django Django

Django Django

On their 2012 debut, Django Django pack warm, '60s-style psych pop with mesmerizing tribal rhythms and a touch of electro-futurism. It gives the album a timeless, placeless feel, especially when "Introduction" builds into a spaghetti-western song shot into outer space, or when "Skies Over Cairo" rides a Middle Eastern groove through a storm of digital effects and clickety-clackety beats. Elsewhere, rapid-fire surf riffs blaze through the band's eerie, Zombies-like harmonies on "Wor," while "Default" kicks into a catchy groove fit for a psych-rock square dance.
