Sia's third album opens with the sound of her writing—an overture to the soul-baring tracks that follow. With electronically kissed chamber pop, sparse acoustic thrum, and emotionally raw lyrics, the singer/songwriter creates an atmosphere so intimate, it almost feels wrong to listen in. This is never more evident than on haunting highlight "Breathe Me," where she professes how "small and needy" she feels over mournful piano, or the airy, string-laden "Don't Bring Me Down," in which she implores her listener with the same quiet power that motivates this graceful set from start to finish.
