Toosii broke through the mixtape melee with 2020’s Platinum Heart, spawning the hit “Love Cycle” and serving as the harbinger for that year’s chart-climbing full-length Poetic Pain. Since then, the North Carolina artist found his creative pocket somewhere between melodic rap and R&B, yielding singles like “Love Is…” and the massive “Favorite Song.” Yet even with such quantifiable success, he never abandoned the format that first brought him to prominence, making the late-2026 arrival of Platinum Heart 2 a gift to fans. Having built anticipation for this sequel with the gratitude-laden “Nights Prayed” and the romantically shell-shocked “Please Don’t Go”—the latter in tandem with YoungBoy Never Broke Again—he doesn’t go back to basics so much as project his core talents through an updated lens. He flexes triumphantly from a position of power on “Lil Terrio” and the hooky “I’m Hot,” yet still finds room to reveal the heart on his sleeve for “Lonely February’s.”
