Not gone nor forgotten

I found "Under the Milky Way" on a "covers" playlist one day and gave it a listen since I hadn't heard anything about or from Rick Springfield in a long time. Being quite delighted with the tune I looked up this album. There are a couple songs I was not previously familiar with but most of them are good old 80's tunes and I was pleasantly surprised with his take on them. I like his "new" raspy sound, almost reminiscent of Peter Gabriel on a couple ("Human" and "For No One" in particular, I thought) but he's still smooth on a couple others.
If you don't mind covers and if you were a fan of Springfield's at any point in his career this album is definately worth a listen. Or two. Or three.

This is great!

I forgot what a great voice this man has!! I was skeptical of a "cover" album, but he puts enough of himself in it to make it his own, without making the some unrecognizable. It is a really great listen.

Great Album

This is in fact, my very first Rick Springfield album...and I am very, very pleased with it. I call it my re-discovered songs album....some familiar tunes and some unfamiliar ones. I really like his rendition of "Life in the Northern Town" -- which is one of the unfamiliar tunes to me. Great collection of songs, great rendition - somewhat nostalgic. If you like the songs the first time they came out, you'll like this cd.
