Apambichao, Vol. 2

A modern master of genre-hopping pop, Colombian hitmaker Manuel Turizo brought it all home for 2026’s Apambichao. Continuing this celebration of his country’s musical greatness with ample influence drawn from his own pan-Latin exploits, this second volume intrepidly pulls from beyond its borders to make for a riveting listening experience marked by big creative swings and some particularly notable collaborations. The first of these comes right away, as Medellín-hailing superstar J Balvin joins for the resplendent merenguetón duet “COMO FUERA.” Latin Afrobeats trailblazer Kapo shifts gears for the Jamaican dancehall throwback “COGIENDO PAREJA,” while música mexicana Grupo Firme mix things up for the wistful international hybrid “LAS BAILÁBAMOS JUNTOS.” Turizo sounds especially harmonious opposite Mexicali singer Oscar Maydon on the nonchalantly amorous “PA’ BESARTE.” Yet even without such esteemed guests, he flourishes artistically as a soloist on the breezy “QUÉ LOCO” and the romantic reggaetón ballads “INFIELES” and “MAS YO.”
