South Carolina singer-songwriter Matthew Goodnough makes his full-length debut with this follow-up to 2025’s LIFE OF THE PARTY AND THE DEATH OF ME EP. Fleshed out with new material, the album includes a string of singles Goodnough has released in the interim, including “Drinking and Driving,” a quiet ballad about hiding behind the bottle when times get tough. “Cradle Rocker,” a mid-tempo anthem that juxtaposes images of single motherhood with scenes from a party-boy lifestyle, is part of that batch of new material, as is the title track “Your Loss, My Misery,” a grungy account of romantic regret that opens with the lyric, “I remember how easy you were the first night we met.” Goodnough brings some friends along for the ride, too, as self-described “chemically altered country music” band Mac Hankins and the Moonlighters join him on “Bad Terms,” a kiss-off to an ex on which Goodnough promises to take “applications for a new bitch today.”
