This 58th volume of John Digweed’s Compiled & Mixed series marks a special moment for the UK dance icon as it heralds the September 2026 release of NORTHERN EXPOSURE REDUX, a 30th anniversary reworking of Northern Exposure, his classic album with Sasha. “The response has been off the charts,” Digweed tells Apple Music. “It proves how much Northern Exposure meant to so many people, and how deeply this emotional breakbeat sound is still loved. That’s really the reason this entire Compiled & Mixed series exists: I’ve never stopped loving this music.” And the love continues to pour here. “At the heart of this month’s mix is a mini showcase from Centrik Records,” he says. “I’ve included both the original and remixed versions of Lost’s ‘Crushed’ and Nathan Cable’s ‘Ride,’ offering two very different interpretations of each musical idea. It’s also great to see a new version of Timo Maas’ ‘Ubik’ doing the rounds. I remember the impact the original made when it was released on Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label, and now it’s back in the form of Wehbba’s electro reshape. Wrapping up this month is a gorgeous remix of James Holden’s progressive classic ‘I Have Put Out the Light,’ reimagined by Blake Jarrell. It’s a stunning way to close the mix as we head towards more autumnal territory next month.”
