Gentlewoman

Gentlewoman

British solo star and Sault vocalist Cleo Sol is reorganizing her priorities on her soulful, optimistic 2026 album Gentlewoman. Over gentle piano chords she states things plainly on opener “I Only Look to You”: “Finally, I’m looking out for me,” before adding later, “Gotta move on/And never come back to this place no more/The only way to heal myself is to forgive them.” On Gentlewoman, Sol takes care of herself and those closest to her. The album’s cover art features the singer holding her child, and it’s in this image that the album’s context truly crystallizes. Sol is building a world for the most important person in her life. On the Inflo-produced “Sweet Thing,” she croons, “You’re the sweetest thing that I’ve seen/You bring out the God in me/You’re everything, everything to me.” Our Favorite Track: The swelling, cinematic jazzy waltz of “Family Ties.”
