For the August 2026 edition of Planet Perfecto, Paul Oakenfold treats us to a selection of cuts from his Mission Underground album which dropped on July 31. “The album moves through techno, tech house, and trance, revisiting some of the classics I played back in the day and reworking them to sound fresh in 2026,” he tells Apple Music. Opening proceedings is a new take on “Masquerade”, his 2026 collab with 2LOT. “Here, you’ll hear the Full on Fluoro remix,” says Oakenfold. “Many of you will know that Full on Fluoro is the name I give to the harder, more psychedelic side of my trance sound—something I’ve loved from the beginning of my career and showcased first on my now-legendary The Goa Mix.” There are plenty more new looks for club classics here too. “Everyone knows Binary Finary’s legendary ‘1998,’ one of the standout tracks from my residency at Cream. For the album, we worked with Marie Vaunt to bring it right up to date. Another one to check out is Argy’s take on one of the most iconic records Perfecto has ever released: Planet Perfecto Knights’ ‘Resurection.’”
