Yulia Niko recorded this DJ mix in August 2026, when, as she tells Apple Music, “another crazy heatwave was in full effect” during the year’s very hot summer. “So this month, I’m taking things a little slower than usual,” Niko adds. “I’m beginning the set with a new release on The Gardens of Babylon Records. It’s called ‘Retro Feelings,’ which really captures the vibe of the whole mix.” That vibe is throbbing, melodic techno featuring all the sounds you can expect to hear from the Berlin-based DJ/producer and label founder’s energized live sets. “One to listen out for is a new remix from Cioz. He’s not only an incredibly talented producer, but also one of the funniest people I know—and genuinely such a kind soul,” says Niko. “He’s one of the standout artists in the melodic house scene right now, so please check out more of his productions here on Apple Music. Another one that has featured in so many of my sets this summer is Clemente and Yamil’s ‘Darkest Nights.’ I was hooked as soon as it came out, and I still can’t get enough of it. I’ve also included my number one secret weapon right now. It’s coming out on my label, AXEPT, and it’s by a Hungarian artist called Aquarius Ezra. He has created a truly unique sound. And finally, the response to my own track with Prana Flow has been crazy—thank you to everyone who has listened to and supported the track.”
