Fresh off his high-profile HABIBTI moment opposite Drake on “I’m Spent,” melodic Florida rapper Loe Shimmy fixes his gaze on the female form with the self-explanatory Pretty Girlz Run the World. Though the streets naturally inform his worldview, the themes presented here have more to do with hedonism than hustling, evident on cuts like “Body Dangerous” and “Too Exotic.” His single “Bag Rite” and the like-minded “Seduce You” highlight the oft transactional nature of such encounters, though from his perspective the pleasurable payoffs seem worth it, if “Aruba” and “Poking Out the Gown” are to be believed. Brent Faiyaz helps convey the madness induced by lust on “Run the World,” while Sexyy Red unapologetically celebrates her own evident desirability on “5 Star Freak.” Yet Loe Shimmy can be more of a romantic when it suits, as on the earnest yet no less erotic Summer Walker team-up “Just Saying.”
