Reborn

Reborn

Though Reborn may suggest something from which Nate Sib is departing, this 2026 album is actually a debut. The LA-based descendent of the electroclash strain of alt-pop, then, examines what, exactly, this rebirth represents. Throughout the album it’s clear that Sib uses songwriting as a vehicle of catharsis. Even when he’s infusing his lyrics with humorous observations and asides, they come from a raw place. Take “Face Card,” the thrilling electronic opener. “I know I’ll never find another/I’ll cuff you winter, spring or summer,” he sings. “Ain’t getting no younger, baby/Are you my future baby mother?/’Cause with that face card you could be my lover.” On “Problem,” he cooks up a synth melody that borrows from the sugary hedonism of EDM, though here he sings of telling a partner that he knows about their lies, telling them that they can no longer come crying to him. The drop sets the track up as another dance-floor banger, and it’s in this play between heartbreak and ecstasy that Nate Sib is reborn. Our Favorite Track: The emotional, acoustic, heart-on-sleeve confessional “Too.”
