As an Orthodox priest serving at the Church of the Panagitsa in Nafplio, Greece, Father T’s instruments of choice include the lyra, oud, and fretless electric guitar, and the music he makes has more in common with the slow-rolling drones of Earth and sunn O))) than anything carved off by Slayer or Megadeth. In fact, the more fitting reference points for Paradise Metal might be Neil Young’s Dead Man soundtrack, Ry Cooder’s Paris, Texas score, and those incredibly relaxing Environments field recordings from the 1970s.
