Dangerous Woman (Tenth Anniversary Edition)

When Ariana Grande set out to record Dangerous Woman, her third studio album, she had just reached a career peak—but that hardly stopped her from chasing another one. 2014’s My Everything had established her as a pop star to be reckoned with, and boasted a heavy-hitting, eclectic, and star-studded tracklist to prove it. Dangerous Woman allowed Grande to push her voice to new heights and spread her wings in edgier, decidedly mature material. Grande’s pristine vocals shined in a number of big-name collaborations while exploring new musical territory, this time with hip-hop’s top MCs. She channels the best of ’90s R&B on “Let Me Love You” featuring Lil Wayne; experiments with trap and dubstep on “Everyday” with Future; and indulges in reggae rhythms on “Side to Side,” another joint effort with Nicki Minaj. But it’s the singles that set the unapologetic and seductive tone of Dangerous Woman—the sultry title track, and undeniably “Into You,” a perfect, Max Martin-helmed pop confection that remains a fan favorite. To mark 10 years of Dangerous Woman, Grande donned the bunny ears once more for an updated cover, and included previously released bonus tracks—as well as one never-before-released song—for this version. “Step On Up” and “Jason’s Song (Gave It Away)” weren’t included on the original tracklist, but had appeared on the fifth-anniversary edition of the album, while “Knew Better Part Two” sees its first official release after Grande quietly dropped it on SoundCloud in 2016.
