“I’m from New York, and my parents are house heads by nature,” Shaun Ross tells Apple Music. “I always loved hearing their stories about attending clubs like The Shelter, Zanzibar, Limelight, Tunnel, and so many more. Obviously, I was too young to attend these parties, but I always try to imagine what it was like from the stories.” The artist, actor, and model has created a DJ mix in celebration of Pride, through which he hopes to convey the experience of clubbing in those environments. “When I play, I try to recreate what I thought it felt like, in my mind, to be in a free space in New York City, dancing to sounds, their minds feeling free.”
