sorry si soy GRRRIS

The “Pantysito” singer proves himself as a pop phenom on his debut album. Back in 2022, ROBI broke out in spectacular fashion via the hit single “Pantysito” with Alejo and Feid. It took another four years before the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter finally released his full-length debut. Yet anyone expecting sorry si soy GRRRIS to be a primarily reggaetón affair simply hasn’t been paying attention to his expanding range. Instead, songs like “NI NA’” and the Young Miko team-up “sorry es que soy bipolarrr” unapologetically reveal his powers as a burgeoning pop phenom with ample capabilities. Showcasing a remarkable genre-splicing proclivity, he efficiently synthesizes elements from funk and R&B on “BRRREAK!” and “esto no puede no pasar,” respectively. He proves proficient as a soft rocker as well on “Café de Barcelona” and “si a los 30 seguimos solos.” It isn’t until “sería, incluso más fácil,” located well into the album’s back half, that a dembow-styled rhythm emerges, and even then it co-exists quite naturally with all that precedes it.
