EDITORS’ NOTES

An up-and-coming singer from Atlanta, Jacquees has been building a buzz by dropping quality tracks online, and here he flaunts a co-sign from multiplatinum superstar Chris Brown. The 19-year-old has dropped 19 as his debut EP, proving that he could very well be the next big thing in a somewhat stagnant R&B landscape. Backed by radio-ready production from Drumma Boy, T Mack the Hitmaker, and K Major, Jacquees croons about love and lust, serious romance and casual hookups alike. Guests include Lloyd ("Feel It"), Rich Homie Quan ("Soldier"), Trinidad Jame$ ("Bet I"), and Chris Brown ("Won't Turn It Down"), though he shines perfectly well on his own, especially during the opener "Future Baby Mama" and "Come Thru." Though he's not exactly reinventing the wheel, Jacquees has more than enough skills (and connections) to break through and become a major success.
