Since internet personality PlaqueBoyMax made the move from streamer to musician, he’s become a prolific rapper, quickly adding release after release to his discography. The Crash Dummy EP follows a busy 2025 for the MC, and he picks up by paying homage to some of the foremost stylists from Atlanta—the city he moved to in mid-2024. “BUSSIN” lights up with the sort of distorted synthesizers that Playboi Carti pioneered, while “BREAK THE BANK” is a dizzying post-trap cut that’s been a favorite of rappers like Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely. What sets PlaqueBoyMax apart is his willingness to embrace a number of these different styles at once, like on “GET OFF ME,” where he employs the whimsical delivery of a Young Thug while floating above the beat much like another ATL mainstay, Lil Yachty, does.
