The past few years have been challenging, to say the least, for Young Stoner Life Records. Several of its artists and affiliates—not to mention impresario Young Thug himself—were famously ensnared in a high-profile RICO case that fractured the roster and hindered its operations. Once the finally freed Thugger dropped UY SCUTI in the fall of 2025, it seemed as if the imprint would at last embark on a new era, with its recent signees Tezzus and diamond* of the Atlanta rap collective ØWay clearly next on deck. While acting as somewhat of an extension of their label boss’s comeback effort, the duo’s UY SCUTI BØYS provides a formal introduction to how well the two artists vibe together, elevating them both in the process. Those who tapped in for last year’s “Bada Bing, Bada Bøøm” will encounter much of the same amped-up energy and progressive sonics here. A producer behind that breakthrough single, Kassgocrazy comes through for the fellas on the audacious “Ew,” while YSL go-to London On Da Track delivers the goods on opener “UY SCUTI.” Additional pedigreed beatmakers like Goxan and Richie Souf provide on the explicit “Chill Øut” and the booming posse cut “JØTP.” Not surprisingly, a number of guests pop in to support. Underground notable skaiwater bursts through the bombed-out video game bleeps of “Guess What,” while Thugger and Rylo Rodriguez flex with the boys on “Da Fuck.” Naturally, others from ØWay make appearances too, namely Pz’ on the hypnagogic trap cut “Head Øver Heels” and Southsidesilhouette on the more aggressive “Møtherfuckers.”
