“Abidjan est le plus doux au monde,” says DJ Jeune Lio, a motto of sorts that translates to “Abidjan is the sweetest in the world.” For his Sounds of Abidjan mix, Lio selected songs from a diverse array of artists including DJ Arafat, Kiff No Beat, Kedjevara, Serge Beynaud, Meiway, Bablee, Team Paiya, and Didi B—all of whom he’s included in the interest of painting the most complete picture of Abidjan he could. “The idea is to show the musical talent you can find in the city,” he tells Apple Music of this mix put together for Africa Month 2026. “I chose to mix well-known songs, classics from Abidjan nightlife, with current tracks—some popular and some less known. From Monique Séka to Douk Saga, from Meiway to Kiff No Beat, or from Diane Dddd to Himra—these are artists who mean a lot to me.”
