After the release of Sameer Rahat’s 2020 debut album Aamad, the singer-songwriter worked on film and series soundtracks in Bollywood, widening his horizons along the way. Six years later, on his EP Rozmarra the performer brings his recent experiences into the mix as he strikes a fine balance between spoken word in Urdu, prog and alt-rock influences, and experiments in production. “Ye SUBAH” and “Kaisa DIN” teem with lo-fi drum beats, while “Tsunami RAAT” has atmospheric poetry at its centre. Ditty ties the EP together on the title track, easing us from dawn to dusk in understated fashion.
