Richard Earnshaw takes charge of the Paharas Musica mix, bringing an effortlessly cohesive touch to this upbeat set of soulful, jazzy electronica. Over the course of two decades, the classically trained DJ/producer and label founder has built a storied career out of his innate propensity for seamless curation. “I’ve always had a natural curiosity to explore musical instruments and their capabilities,” he tells Apple Music. “When I was at university, it didn’t take long to expand my curiosities to the record player, particularly as my interest in dance music composition/production was becoming a very real passion. The curation and the performance of records became the new manuscript and stave for me. The opportunity to play and support a number of pieces of music, a number of artists all within one ‘performance’ was, and still is, hugely fulfilling.” Alongside “Music (Is All I Got),” Earnshaw’s own collaboration with singer Alec Sun Drae, and a David Morales mix of gospel star Vernessa Mitchell, Earnshaw’s selections feature dance-floor innovators such as Jimmy Allen, DJ Fudge, and Hatiras. “It’s been nearly 30 years of storytelling, playing a wealth of incredible music created by some of the most talented people on the planet,” says Earnshaw. “Music that has had a genuine impact on people’s lives, experiences, and memories made.
