AMOR & DROGA

Tokischa deserves no small amount of credit and praise for what she’s accomplished as an artist. Transcending genre through collaborations that, more often than not, bent others to her will rather than vice versa, the Dominican star became known to fandoms worldwide. In 2026 alone, she’s already featured on A$AP Rocky’s long-awaited album and toured with FKA twigs, two indications that her AMOR & DROGA would not solely reside in a dembow-centric space. Genre containers have never held back her energy and artistry, and this nearly hour-long album proves that with tracks like the cinematic hyperpop of “MI NOVIO” and the power balladry of “HEROINA.” Whether rapping with KASE.O on the boom-bap variant “MONO” or indulging R&B dance-pop impulses on “DIVA Y DEPREVISA,” she reveals a diversity that her followers have long expected from her. There are, of course, plenty of Caribbean-driven rhythms here, which she wields forcefully on “MIAMI,” “PERREO LLORANDO,” and the ethereally tropical Skrillex team-up “Surfboard.”
