The fifth mix in Paul Oakenfold’s Planet Perfecto series kicks off with a bang, courtesy of “Manifesto,” the skyscraping debut release from Daxson. “In my eyes, Daxson represents the next generation of trance torchbearers, and I’m excited to have him join the Perfecto Records family,” Oakenfold tells Apple Music. The track sets a high energetic bar that sustains throughout a head-spinning set of thunderous floor-fillers selected by the DJ/producer, including a mesmerizing rework of a Radiohead classic. “I’m a huge Radiohead fan, and I recently discovered this bootleg remix of ‘Everything in Its Right Place’ by YLAI,” says Oakenfold. “He really knows how to put his own stamp on a remix without losing the essence of the track, and this version is beautiful. As ever, I’m ending with a classic, this time going back to 2011 with the Liquid Soul remix of Nick Callaghan and Will Atkinson’s ‘Blizzard.’ This really stands up still today—proper, driving trance music to get lost in the zone with on the dance floor.”
