Though Baton Rouge mainstay Fredo Bang has released plenty of music since first emerging in 2018, he’s mostly stayed away from indulging in sequels or addendums to early-career releases. That changes with Most Hated 2, the rapper’s first release of 2026 and a sequel to one of his early breakthrough projects, 2020’s Most Hated. On the follow-up, he illustrates how far he’s come both through lyrical content and via the bevy of flows and styles he deploys. “Mr. Uptown” plays with the bounce subgenre of dance rap that has become immensely popular in New Orleans, as Fredo cruises above the beat with an impressive double-time flow. On “Gates Flow 2 (She Don’t Wanna),” he honors the singing style of the song’s title inspiration, Kevin Gates, infusing his crooning with a rasp indebted to Louisiana’s rich blues history. The album features some of Fredo Bang’s most inspired writing to date, illustrating just how much he can do when fueled by a little bit of hate.
