On their follow-up to 2024’s STIGMA, Floridian metalcore troupe Wage War carves off an EP inspired by the humid swamplands and giant reptiles of their home state. “Song of the Swamp” gets right to the point with a thudding groove punctuated by noisy blasts from guitarists Cody Quistad and Seth Blake. “4x4” exudes nu metal attitude with Korn-inspired riffs as vocalist Briton Bond delivers a Jonathan Davis-worthy performance. “BLINDFOLD” offers an atmospheric R&B-style respite before launching into emo anthemics. The heaviness returns in full force on spastic closer “PURIFY,” but not before “KARMA” splits the difference with deathcore raps and poppy clean vocals.
