Once a mainstay of Hindi film soundtracks, duets have been more rare in the 2020s. But the tunes for romantic drama Do Deewane Seher Mein offer a refreshing throwback in more ways than one. “Aasma Aasma” and “Tera Mera Saath” are breezy love songs that give voice to the lead duo’s emotions. On the other hand, the title track is a disco cut in the vein of the groove-based dance songs that dominated Bollywood at the end of the 1970s—and the reprise of “Do Deewane Sheher Mein” is a faithful update of the classic track from 1977 movie Gharaonda which gives the film its name.
