Fitness: Yoga, February 2026 (DJ Mix)

As a leading figure in LA’s beat music scene, producer Flying Lotus (aka Steven Ellison) has always been a vibes man, connecting the dots between instrumental hip-hop, free jazz, and even New Age sounds. In other words, his music is a Venn diagram for the perfect yoga soundtrack, so he was stoked to take the reins for this Apple Music Fitness Mix, which is helmed each month by one of dance and electronic music’s best DJs and producers. “It was super up my alley, musically,” Ellison tells Apple Music. “I wanted to create something that would be useful. How many times have you heard a yoga mix and it’s boring as hell, you know? I wanted to do something that was still respectful to what one would expect, but also just have some fun vibes in there and put my spin on it.” Like any good yoga session, it eases in peacefully, starting with Steven Halpern and Paul McCandless’ ethereal composition “Deep Alpha, Pt. 1” and moving into jazz both soulful (Norman Connors) and spiritual (Ami Taf Ra) before it hits some adventurous abstract tunes of FlyLo’s own. “I wanted it to have an ebb and flow,” he says. “In the middle, there’s a bit of a burst of energy, and then we take it down to a nice chill final stretch, and then everyone goes home happy and relaxed.”
