DELIRIUM

DELIRIUM

After dropping riveting corridos opposite the likes of Peso Pluma and Tito Double P, among others, Neton Vega made a definitive statement about his rising-star status in música mexicana with the full-length debut Mi Vida Mi Muerte. Some nine months later, the Baja California artist returns with his second substantial project of 2025, one markedly different from its predecessor. DELIRIUM opener “Montate” starts out with the familiar strums and accordion but then swiftly switches to a more reggaetónesque rhythm. Such is the nature of this 15-song outing, an adventurous leap across genres both as a soloist and in tandem with other artists. There are vibrant, dance-floor-ready moments like “Weekenes” and the acid-soaked “Tramadol,” yet also bold divergences from the expected, like the bachata-adjacent “3 Dias +” and the hip-hop meets pop-rock hybrid “Turistico.” Vega gets his perreo on with the help of acclaimed reggaetoneros such as Jowell & Randy on the slo-mo “Baby De Los 2 Miles” and Myke Towers on the throwback “90 60 90.” It’s only on the raw, romantic closer, “Desvelaos,” that he circles back to his core sound, one undeniably altered by what came before.
