Back in 2018, Casper Mágico made history with the reggaetón smash “Te Boté.” Even as that single helped usher in the subsequent ascent of Latin music into the global mainstream, the Puerto Rican rapper kept on grinding as a reliable and steady presence via singles and features. His first full-length project since the Nio García joint effort Now or Never from 2020, the highly collaborative Los Mágicos mixes previously released cuts like “DUCATI” and “Ice$pice” with new material that fortifies his credentials. A versatile MC in trap and perreo contexts, he’s also very much in his bag regardless of the beat, vibing over the swinging, tropical groove of “Carlos Weber” and even trying his hand at bachata on “Mi Amuleto” (with Aventura’s own Henry Santos) and corridos on “3 de Junio.” While he reunites with longtime cohort Anuel AA on “La Bebesita” and the durable posse cut “Toki,” Mágico also broadens his base by building with comparatively newer stars like Tutu on “Lychee” and Young Miko on the closing “La Mini.”
