On their first album since reuniting with vocalist Danny Worsnop, British metalcore squad Asking Alexandria crank their arena-rock tendencies up to 11. Worsnop does some R&B-style crooning on the verses of “Alone in a Room” before the track explodes into a skyscraping chorus, a phenomenon that continues on “Rise Up” and the anthemic “Into the Fire.” Meanwhile, power ballad “Under Denver” adds skittering electronics before giving way to the acoustic “Vultures” and a cameo from Seattle rapper Bingx on the buoyant “Empire.”
