“Last month, I previewed what was about to unfold during my month-long residency at Chinois in Ibiza,” Shimza tells Apple Music. “Now that it’s over, I’m still processing just how special those parties were. In the meantime, the Karma Karma movement continues to grow. It’s been incredible to see this culture spread across the world, with more and more people connecting to the sound.” And Shimza has a fresh batch of tracks for his September 2025 mix. “This month’s mix features music from some of the artists shaping our movement in South Africa, including Umgido, Malumz on Decks, and Tekniq, alongside producers from all over the world who are now contributing to this scene,” he says. “One track to listen out for is my own remix of Andrea Oliva and Moeaike’s ‘I Love You So.’ I loved the original, but I gave it a tougher groove and the reaction on the dance floor has been amazing. Another big one is from Moshem, who’s actually based in Málaga, Spain. He collaborated with Kenya’s Idd Aziz on the track ‘Hambalua’ and a year later it still sounds so fresh.
